Sensors or Limit Switches for final
and intermediate positions

Electro-mechanical actuators must not be advanced to their mechanical end position but rather stopped by way of a control (converter, contactor) when the limit switch is reached.

All RACO electric actuators type 1 and type 6 as well as the rotary actuator series type DM4 can be equipped with following end- and intermediate position signal swichtes:

Moreover, magnetic-inductive sensors (proximity switches) are available for the linear drives and electric actuators of the COMPACT series.

With end-position switch-off or in-between stops it is important whether sensors can be over-run on account of over-travel or switching lug length. The over-run can be reduced with a retaining brake (circuited on the alternating or direct current side).

A converter in connection with a brake chopper ensures controlled braking of a actuator by way of a ramp. This not only guarantees much safer operation but also significantly lengthens the service life of the actuator.
